We are seeking an Associate Director Cardiometabolic Biomarkers to be a technical and strategic leader for the Biomarker Solutions Center, Scientific Engagement, Biopharma Laboratory Solutions Scientific Affairs. This is a global position and will be remote.
Duties will include the following:
Tactical Project Leadership for Cardiometabolic Disease, Biomarker Solutions Center
Serve as Cardiometabolic Biomarker SME for Labcorp Biopharma Laboratory Solutions (BLS) business, including coverage of Cardiovascular, Kidney, Obesity/Diabetes, and Metabolic-associated Liver Diseases.
Engage with clients to provide expert advice on biomarker strategy development for clinical trials. Respond to RFP/RFI proposals and individual colleague (e.g. Commercial team Business Development Directors, Proposal/Opportunity Management, CLS Project Management) inquiries regarding enterprise biomarker solutions in a timely fashion.
Support Precision Medicine opportunities by engaging early as Therapeutic Area contacts for sponsors, by partnering closely with CDx SMEs and Business Development staff.
Interact and collaborate with Labcorp laboratory groups to provide contextual strategy and scientific support for optimal biomarker test selection, characterization, and development.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and platforms to aid in defining and implementing innovative Cardiometabolic biomarker solutions in Labcorp CLS and network labs.
Strategic Project Leadership for Cardiometabolic Disease, Biomarker Solutions Center
Partnering with Labcorp Enterprise medical and scientific leaders, contribute to the overall strategy and direction for Cardiometabolic biomarkers for the Labcorp enterprise, including adapting and modifying objectives based on deep knowledge of the subject matter, feedback of team members and other stakeholders, and focus on current/future state scientific and business drivers.
Assess and monitor strategic position and marketplace presence of key competitors in therapeutic areas of Cardiometabolic diseases across clinical trial and clinical care business areas. Provide scientific input to market strategy and competitive positioning as appropriate in partnership with business leadership to maintain competitive leadership and advantage.
Work proactively to establish Cardiometabolic Biopharma and Enterprise capabilities in areas of greatest need.
Actively serve as scientific support for evaluation of new test/device partnering opportunities for Labcorp’s Strategic Partnership/Venture Fund group. Provide scientific input to market strategy and competitive positioning as appropriate in partnership with business leadership to maintain competitive leadership and advantage.
Provide scientific input into defining novel biomarker value propositions for multiple audiences, including clients, investigators, payors, and patients.
Education/Qualifications
PhD degree preferred but sufficient track record to ensure success will be consideredExperience
Preferred 5-10 years’ experience in Pharma/Biotech focused in Immunology
Demonstrated experience in biomarker discovery and development, clinical discovery of biomarkers, and MoA/translational research for immunology directed clinical trials.
Experienced in leading major projects to successful outcome
Strong interpersonal, organization, time-management, and verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative and team building skills critical
Pay Range: $115,000-$218,000
