Overview
Paige, a GCG company, is currently seeking a focused, career-oriented Associate Design Engineer . In this role you will be responsible for all phases of the design and quotation of products as well as to ensure they meet all applicable safety listings and are able to be manufactured using current manufacturing processes, raw material selection to ensure viability of producing the product as designed in one of our manufacturing facilities. You will contribute to the overall growth of our assembled, manufactured, and sourced products through the development of new products, modifications of existing products, creating drawings, and interpreting customer supplied drawings and development of product design for quotation purposes. Additionally, you'll collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, vendors, sales personnel, and the customer.
What You’ll do
Partner with engineering, sales, manufacturing, vendors, and sourcing to develop and source new products.
Identify and communicate with vendors to meet customer needs and achieve optimum costs.
Support sourcing efforts through the development of purchase specifications.
Support evaluation of product evaluation, testing, quality, and supplier factory audits as needed.
Support sales efforts by providing experience in wire and cable products and with harness assemblies and connectors.
Use Paige's design tools, CAD programs, Zukin E3 Harness Building, ERP, and other software to create specifications, drawings, bills of materials and purchase specifications.
Interface with various safety listing agencies (UL, CSA, ETL, NSF) to ensure products confirm to industry standards and meet the customer’s needs.
Perform other duties as needed to support the products and processes need to design, source, manufacture and testing of the products.
Travel as needed to industry shows, events, customers and manufacturing locations as needed.
What You’ll bring
Bachelors or Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering desired.
1-2 years of experience in Engineering or Technical Discipline is desired.
Entry levelknowledge of wire and cable products, harness assemblies, connectors, and industry standards required.
Engineering, design, analytical and computer utilization experience with AutoCAD or other CAD programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software currently used by Paige.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and work closely with individuals from the field, manufacturing, quality, and management.
Up to 10% travel is required to visit suppliers, customers sites, manufacturing facilities and other locations as needed.
