About you and this role
Dow’s Creative Element team has an exciting opportunity for an Innovation and Technology specialist to join our Platform & Technology group. The Dow Creative Element team provides internal video production, graphic design, creative asset management and live event support. As a member of the team, you will provide technical expertise for production, video, and asset management systems, perform equipment management, and provide software and hardware support.
Responsibilities
Create/maintain system documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures.
Provide IT expertise for all Creative Element teams and provide interface into Dow IT processes.
Key focal point for production and equipment technology manufacturers.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, workstations, and peripherals.
Execute all hardware and software upgrades.
Provide daily technical CE end-user support for software and hardware related issues.
Work with Platform Manager to implement Technology roadmap.
Work towards migrating Creative Element team to cloud- based solutions.
Provide creative solutions to integrate global studio resources.
Lead design and delivery of new public space technologies.
Maintain understanding of current and new technology.
Assist Engineering team with any hardware/software project requests.
Track and manage hardware assets.
Setting up and troubleshooting issues with Apple & Windows Devices.
Setting up new Apple Mac Devices.
Troubleshooting Fiber channel connectivity with user stations.
Setting up updates and installing/updating some software on the Macs.
Maintaining the SAN/Shared File system.
Replacing failed drives on the SAN.
Work with Quantum to resolve SLA tickets.
File/folder lifecycle maintenance.
Include Change Management and communication processes when changes are implemented.
Responsible for communicating changes prior to implementation.
ProvidePlatform Administrationsupport for several Creative Element tools and services including but not limited to the following: I500 LTO Library, Quantum Xcellis, Storage Maxon, ProSoft Engineering, Sony NOC, Vembu, Insydium, etc.
Work with SME for Digital Signage to provide ad-hoc technical support regarding Dow’s network infrastructure.
Stay up to date on latest technologies in the industry.
Accountable to provide technical requirements to maintain/improve the tools provided.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class (PO2/Sgt) Military ranking.
3-5 years of creative media experience, video production, advance technology platforms and/or digital arts.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels and disciplines.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Platform Administration Expectations
Performance optimization: Adjust system to optimize the platform for better performance.
Troubleshooting: Resolve or escalate technical issues to the vendor. Track all issues to understand where there are recurring gaps in service provided.
Upgrades and Updates: Ensure the platform hardware and software are up to date, secure and operating smoothly. Plan and execute platform upgrades and update to incorporate new features and security patches. Work with internal partners to understand the needs and share new features proactively.
Capacity planning: Evaluate system usage and plan for future scalability.
Training: Provide training and support for users and staff to maximize the platform’s efficiency and effectiveness
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Communication: Share features and functionality with the team to raise awareness of system capabilities. Educate users on new features and best practices.
