Job Description
As an Associate Cost Manager, you will both lead and work as part of a team to help deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion. You will work on several capital projects simultaneously ranging in value from £5m – £150m and varying in complexity. These projects will be from a range of sectors, with our current active sectors being Higher Education, Defence, Residential and Infrastructure.
Our approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentation skills and an ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with clients and consultants.
Joining our South West team, this role can be based from either our Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter or Plymouth offices.
Your tasks will include but not be limited to the following;
Provide full Cost Management duties to AECOM clients and where appropriate lead the commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
Manage the delivery of cost management team outputs, ensuring they are completed efficiently, on time, aligned to our quality standards and to the client’s satisfaction.
Provide balanced advice to clients and design teams on cost, value and risk.
Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing) and develop strong reciprocal relationships.
Assist in managing and motivating the office / regional team.
Ensure all staff members reporting to you are provided with effective support and mentoring and have current / relevant training.
Qualifications
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
Professional Qualified – Chartered Status with the RICS.
Proven experience in Cost Management providing a full spectrum of deliverables throughout all project stages.
Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.
Experience of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK – i.e. Higher Education, Defence, Residential and Infrastructure.
