Department Overview:
Northwell's Supply Chain and Group Purchasing Organization is looking for team members that can continuously raise the bar for Northwell. The Department is responsible for and must deliver cost efficiency strategies, identify and mitigate risk, and meet the needs of Northwell with respect to third parties and vendors/suppliers who assist in furthering Northwell's business strategies. Analysts are responsible for purchasing goods, materials and services, and for ensuring the company's operational needs are met, while optimizing price and quality and minimizing all aspects of risk. They negotiate and facilitate contracts and contract requirements, and meet internal client objective. Analysts of the department leverage supply chain and industry data to benchmark portfolios and constantly collaborate with cross-functional teams internal and external to Northwell to source, request quotes, create and monitor purchase orders, resolve exceptions, and explore new relationships to make and support optimal purchasing decisions. The department's analysts manage the vendor/supplier relationships and resolve any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance in addition to responding to and facilitating account resolutions related to managed portfolios.
Job Description
Assists in analyzing, processing, and reporting on related category management opportunities. Designs, develops, and implements systems policies or procedures resulting in the accurate reporting of supply chain or system data.
Job Responsibility
Assists in analyzing, tracking, and reporting on category management opportunities (purchase orders, accounts payable and general ledger).
Creates reports of regular and ad-hoc results on departmental requests.
Assists in the research of various supply chain data markers.
Troubleshoots problems and researches cause of variances.
Interprets data and recommends appropriate course of action.
Develops systems and procedures to enhance departmental processing, as needed.
Maintains proprietary databases including data integrity, timeliness of data input and accuracy of data.
Maintains compliance with applicable governmental laws and regulations.
Operates with direct guidance and work assignments are generally straightforward and of moderate complexity.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
0-1 years of relevant experience, required.
Additional Preferred Skills
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments
Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Knowledge of ERP and P2P systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft preferred
Strong negotiating, communication, and writing skills
Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses

The salary range for this position is $58,500-$85,720/year
