Job Summary:
We are seeking to hire an Associate for the Canadian Corporate Banking Department 1. The primary objective of this position is to drive growth by developing and implementing various initiatives. The Associate will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new businesses, acquisitions, and investments within the Japanese and Asian-oriented entities of the Canadian Corporate Banking department. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to drive successful outcomes. The Associate will play a crucial role in expanding the bank's presence in the targeted market segments and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Canadian Corporate Banking department.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote the Bank's business opportunities to the customers throughout Canada, including the areas of loans, FX, deposit, settlements and derivatives business.Maintain a close relationship with existing customers.Develop a strategy for increasing the Bank's customer base in the area of the subsidiaries of Japanese and Asian companies.Analyze, review and approve or reject credit applications.Conduct specific reviews of industries to analyze trends and problems.Contribution to JNAB (Japanese North American Banking) business promotion.Liaise with other Mizuho offices to maintain/develop business with customers for All Mizuho.The Associate is expected to instruct customer's business requests to other departments in adequate way to prevent misunderstandings and operation errors.The Associate is expected to consider correct and efficient operations for entire branch.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate must have:
4+ years of work experience in banking, credit management, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of banking products, credit analysis, risk assessment, financial forecasting, and financial regulationsExperience with Japanese BankingProficiency in financial modeling, data analysisStrong market and liquidity evaluation and analytical skillsExcellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines effectivelyFully proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access
Required Education:
A university degree in business administration, commerce, economics or a related field
