Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
Job Description
The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has a position available for an Assistant Research Biostatistician. The successful applicant will engage in a wide variety of collaborative projects. Projects involve the design, analysis, and publication of research in cancer epidemiology.
The successful applicant will have a Master’s degree in biostatistics, applied statistics, or related quantitative field, and will be proficient in the following tasks:
• Applying statistical methods in large population-based studies.
• Conducting analyses of longitudinal/survival-type data.
• Analyzing data from case-control and cross-sectional studies.
• Conducting association analyses of risk factor, genetic, and biomarker data.
• Manipulating high-dimensional data.
• Participating in planning for grants and proposals.
• Effectively communicating scientific ideas, methods, and results.
The successful applicant must be fluent in a statistical programming language, such as SAS, Stata, or R.
