Position Summary
The Department of Marketing at Metropolitan State University of Denver invitesapplications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professorlevel to begin August 2024. This position is a nine-month, full-time tenuretrack appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to perform thefollowing:Teach undergraduate and graduate marketing courses.Engage in meaningful professional development activities, including theproduction of research (and potentially other intellectual contributions)to be shared with the wider academic and professional communities.Engage in service activities that benefit the department, college,and/or university.
The university's AACSB-accredited College of Business houses six academicdepartments: Accounting, Computer Information Systems and BusinessAnalytics, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. The of theCollege of Business is to engage a diverse student population with aninclusive educational experience to become successful business professionals.
The Department of Marketing serves almost 400 majors who can choosespecialized majors in either marketing or professional selling. Students canalso complete a certificate or minor in digital marketing or professionalselling as well as a general marketing minor and an advertising and promotionminor. The Department of Marketing is also home to core business courses suchas Introduction to Business, Business Communication, and Global CorporateSocial Responsibility. Marketing faculty also teach in the MBA program. Whileour teaching-first mission is reflected in our very reasonable , manyfaculty in the department and college produce voluminous research-includingwork published in top journals. Our department hosts regular researchgatherings and offers formal and informal research support, and we relishnew opportunities for co-authorship.

Responsibilities
As a teaching institution with small class sizes, Metropolitan StateUniversity of Denver emphasizes innovative, contemporary instruction and anurturing and transforming educational experience. We are seeking candidateswho illustrate (1) dedication to inclusive excellence in teaching andadvising at the undergraduate and graduate level, (2) the ability toproduce quality research in marketing, (3) the ability to work closelywith other marketing faculty to plan and participate in department activitiesand events, and (4) a willingness to engage in service at theDepartment, College, University, and community levels.
The successful candidate will illustrate the ability to teach a range ofundergraduate and graduate marketing classes. The teaching load is typically12 credit hours (4 courses) per semester. Faculty also have the optio toteach summer courses for additional pay.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach according to universityspecified polices using a variety of instructional modes and courses that fitdepartment needs. Consistently effective teaching will be a key considerationin reappointment. In addition to department-level assistance, the universityand college offer formal teaching support.
The successful candidate will be expected to engage in activities that enhancethe faculty member's knowledge base and skill set, are shared with thewider academic community, and result in the cultivation of new concepts andmaterial that can then be delivered in the classroom. A modest volume ofpublished research and other intellectual contributions are expected in thisposition and will be a key condition of reappointment.
Required QualificationsResearch based doctoral degree in MarketingMeet College of Business requirements for AACSB qualification as a ScholarlyAcademic (SA).
