UW-Stout\'s School of Art & Design is NASAD(National Association of Schools of Art and Design) accredited.APPOINTMENT START DATE: August 19, 2024 RESPONSIBILITIES Teach lectureand lab courses each semester, that may include introductory,intermediate, and advanced fashion design and development, qualityanalysis, digital design, and studio classes. Provide student academicadvisement and conduct assessment of student learning. This includescontributing to academic program assessments, accreditation, andcontinuous improvement processes in collaboration with faculty andstaff. Develop a productive research program with the potential forrefereed scholarship (peer-reviewed publications, peer-reviewed creativescholarship); conduct original research in areas of fashion. Assist inmaintaining lab equipment and facilities. Develop strong partnershipswith the fashion and textile industries for advanced students\' learningexperiences. ABD status will be consideredwith Ph.D. or other terminal degree, required by the end of the secondyear of employment. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teachuniversity-level courses in fashion design, fashion product development,retailing, or related field. Interest in advancing student learning infashion, apparel, textiles, and retail. Highly Desired: Fashion design,fashion product development, merchandising, textiles, or relatedindustry work experiences (e.g., apparel design, apparel productdevelopment/management, 2D and 3D software). Evidence of a cohesiveprogram of research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and/orconference proceedings.
