Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Arkansas State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology. Preferred expertise in Developmental Psychology (specific area open), but we will also consider other areas of expertise depending on evolving needs of the department. Position to begin August 2024
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities may include classes such as Child, Adolescent or Lifespan Development
Depending on the background and interest of the candidate, other courses within our curriculum will also be available
We also welcome the development of new classes in your specific specialty area
Faculty have the opportunity to work with and mentor students as part of their research labs
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Approximately 10 faculty are in the core undergraduate BS Psychology degree program, and there are many opportunities for collaborations within the program with faculty who have a wide range of specializations. The department also houses counseling and school psychology programs and cross program collaboration often take place

Minimum Qualifications:
A Doctoral Degree in Psychology or related field
Candidates who are advanced ABDs will be considered at the rank of instructor until the dissertation is defended
