JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Overview The Department of CounselorEducation and Counseling Psychology (CECP) at Marquette University isseeking candidates for one non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professorfaculty position for our online Clinical Mental Health Counselingprogram. The position begins August 2024. Candidates must be able toteach synchronous and asynchronous graduate-level counseling courseswith a focus on clinical mental health counseling. Faculty are eligibleto work in a remote capacity and are not required to relocate toMilwaukee, WI. Duties and Responsibilities Under thedirection of the department Chair the individual will perform some orall of the following duties: Teach synchronous and asynchronous graduatecourses in clinical mental health counseling Facilitate and teach anapproved course of study with measurable objectives and student outcomesfor the course taught Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals andgroups online and through D2L Brightspace using accepted, appropriateinstructional methods Contribute to Counselor Education programs throughparticipation in curriculum development, assessment, and other programactivities. Evaluate student learning using appropriate assessmentmethods in the Department of Counselor Education and CounselingPsychology program evaluation system In collaboration with theDepartment of Digital Learning and CECP, update course content based onstudent feedback, instructional effectiveness, and emerging bestpractices based on our department guidelines Maintain and submitaccurate and current records on D2L Brightspace concerning studentaccountability, attendance, and performance Support the department\'smission related to racial and social justice and engaging withcommunities that are underserved. Effectively and accurately participatein the Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology assessment andaccreditation (i.e., CACREP) process, including gathering and reviewingrequired materials Advise students individually and in group formatsthroughout the calendar year While summer teaching options areavailable, faculty will be expected to continue to contribute to theprogram over the summer activities such as advising and interviewingprospective students. Communicate concerns about student behavior toDirector of Counselor Education or Department Chair Maintain astudent-oriented approach to online education; participate in new coursedevelopment and course redevelopment Maintain currency and improveprofessionally in the content and pedagogy of courses taught Developpositive relationships with colleagues and support collegiality... Knowledge of content and skills forclinical mental health counseling methods. The ability to teach coreknowledge and skills for clinical mental health counseling. Excellentcommunication skills and ability to relate well with students andcolleagues. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Graduation from anaccredited institution with a doctoral degree in counselor education,professional psychology or a related educational field; have extensiveexperience in clinical mental health counseling. Successfulcollege/university level synchronous and asynchronous teachingexperiences Extensive and thorough knowledge of subject matter andcourse content of classes to be taught. Ability to facilitate live,virtual classes. Instruction may include both an asynchronous andsynchronous instructional format.
