SUMMARY
The purpose of the Operator is to assist in leading the daily asphaltproduction process. You will work as part of a team to produce batches ofhigh-quality asphalt products safely, efficiently and at a fast pace. Goodmechanical skills, basic computer skills (training available) and goodteam communication skills are required. This job also requires excellentself-direction working alone at times or in small teams with little directsupervision.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on- the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem.Take personal ownership to work safely each day and hold other team members tothe same high standards of safetyWorks to achieve zero injuries, zero defects and zero losses.Participates in plant TPM initiatives - completing activities associated withTPM tasks.Zero Defects: works to achieve zero scrap or secondsCommunicate effectively when going on breaks and during shift changesReport unsafe conditions immediately to supervisorNotify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on- the-job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seemTake personal ownership to work safely each and every day and hold other teammembers to the same high standard of safetyFix unsafe conditions and report them immediately to supervisorCertify and operate in all the following areas: Polymer Modified Asphaltprocessing, Tanker truck loading and unloading, Flatbed truck loading andunloading, Railcar processing, Quality Control Procedures,Pre-Heater/Incinerator Operation, Boiler Operation, and Converter Operation.Perform the administrative tracking tasks of data entry, BOL processing,production entry, receiving, and general organization in SAP, Excel,and MS WorBe able to climb tanks with heights of 50', read panel displays, useoperating manuals for troubleshooting, able to stand on your feet for mostof the time in a 12-hour shift.Become certified to operate a forklift.Test, measure and enter data on quality using our computer system requiringgeneral math skills and the ability to discern variation.Attend, participate and help lead monthly meetings and training.
