Overall Purpose of the Role
Summary of the role – main purpose for the existence of the role
Support day-to-day accounting activities, include record-to-report activities for film cost recognition and amortization, subscription and content licensing revenue, intercompany transactions, OPEX, etc. of HBO APAC entities.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES
General Accounting
Responsible for various month end/ quarterly deliverables
Programming Analysis
Revenue Accounting responsibilities for Major (Movie) Deals
Assist in affiliates contracts review supporting OTC
Computation of BBF commission, Reconciliation of BBF Books to HBOPP's collection
Assist in preparation of monthly revenue/expense and variance analysis
Perform monthly revenue and tie out between sub ledger and general ledger
Review balance sheet reconciliations
Reviewing provision and accrual expenses
Prepare monthly accruals journal entries
Support internal and external audit request
Work in collaboration with Legal, Sales, Finance, Business, LOB, GBS on cross divisional initiatives and handles reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders
Responsible and manage month end close processes and deliverables
Perform ad hoc analysis for Sr. Manager/ Manager as well as working with different departments and handle queries within the organization
Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made
Assist in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization
Ensure expenses code to correct accounting code and all data entry are accurately input into accounting system
Support any ad hoc projects

Where applicable, provide information about the size of the organization managed, operating budget, revenue accountability, number of employees or other quantitative data pertinent to this position.
Regular interaction with various accounting groups in a matrixed organizationSelection criteria
Essential:
Preferred fully qualified Accountant – CPA
Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting
High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
Experience in Integrated finance applications/information systems e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle
Experience working with outsourced financial functions
