About the job: The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of NursingServices is to assess, plan, implement and coordinate the clinical careprogram in conjunction with the Director of Nursing Services to ensure thehighest quality of care is maintained at all times. The Assistant Director ofNursing Services will also supervise the day to day nursing activities inaccordance to compliance with current Federal, State, and localstandards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility as well asresponsible to support, mentor and empower the nursing staff according tothe nurse practice act. •Ensures VOA care clinical systems are followed/utilized.Reaches out to VOANS Clinical Consultants with issues regarding the systems.
•Directs and oversees day-to-day functions of the nursing staffand nurse managers to ensure compliance with current rules, regulations andguidelines that govern this long-term care facility.
•Participate in the development, maintenance and updating ofwritten policies and procedures that govern the daily function of thedepartmen
•Provide leadership that includes the administrative andsupervisory principles essential for your assigned Staff Nurses and otherstaff
•Make daily rounds on the assigned unit to assure that nursingservice personnel are performing required duties and to assure thatappropriate nursing care is being provided.
•Participate in surveys and inspections made by authorized agencies.
•Meet with the nursing staff(professional/non-professional) as well as support personnel in planningthe department's services, programs and activities.
•Coordinate "house" activities when assigned, in theabsence of the Director of Nursing to include calls to residential sections ofthe facility and coordination of staffing assignments
•Assist with reviewing Abuse/Neglect claims and aid with abuseprevention investigations as necessary.
•Provide support to the facility by working on-call as directedby the Director of Nursing.
•Can be assigned duties of oversight of Staff Development,QAA/QAPI process, Infection Prevention and Control, and MDS and asdirected by the DON.

1.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently registered withthe State of Board Examiners for Registered Nurses. Current CPR certification.
2.Registered Nurse with minimum of two (2) years experience in nursingsupervisory or nursing m nagement in a long-term care setting or equivalent.
3.Other Skills and Abilities Required:
•Demonstrates knowledge of gerontology, rehabilitative, andmedical-surgical nursing care, Antibiotic Stewardship, InfectionPrevention and Infection Control
