The Art Director, Catalog + Brand Design is accountable for owning and driving the development of creative concepts based on written or verbal briefs. They will collaborate with Senior creative leaders to produce design solutions that visually convey a particular message, idea or concept as well as provide on-going direction to advance the creative point of view of the brand.
This is a 3-day hybrid position based out of our Northbrook, IL office.
A day in the life as an Art Director, Catalog + Brand Design…
Collaborate with key partners to develop creative concepts/assignments, conceptual thinking, development and execution of creative campaigns across multiple mediums; has ability to lead or perform this function independently as needed
Lead and develop multiple on-going projects and timelines
Maintain brand authenticity throughout all creative work
Develop strong working relationships with creative, marketing and other cross-channel partners to deliver strategic and on target creative concepts
Ensure budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate and followed and assists in developing and maintaining schedules for projects
Attend and/or lead meetings facilitated by business area or project initiator to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project
Conceive, develop and present concepts and designs
Prepare handoff and briefing of photo studio partners on concept and art direction, attending photo shoots when required
Reviews all editorial and image content, ensures proper layout and color and approves printer proofs. Attends press checks, when required

7 years of Graphic Design experience
Bachelor's degree in Art and Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, or a related area
Love and mastery of Typography is required
Excellent skills with Adobe CC Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Experienced with Google and MS Office Suite
Experience in Illustration, Motion Graphics, Animation and Photography experience is a plus
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and correctly prioritize multiple projects for themselves and others
