Overview
Voice Engineer role in Infrastructure architecture and engineering team is global in nature. The role will be working on PepsiCo's Global Transformation initiatives to modernize the communications infrastructure. This role will work closely with the sector delivery leads, infrastructure engineers, SMEs, IT engineers and architects.
The incumbent needs a well-rounded domain knowledge on Voice & Network technologies. PepsiCo has a highly complex Communications implementation which is globally distributed and has varied components. The incumbent would also need detailed knowledge on IT and technology, combined with in-depth understanding on areas such as VOIP, Telephony, network, cloud, firewalls, SIP Services, infrastructure and media distribution to engineer and architect communications solutions for PepsiCo's globally diverse customer base. The role will also provide engineering coverage of required skills during the time zone.
Responsibilities
You will be able to make an impact by using your critical thinking skills to determine innovative technical solutionsBuild an architecture for the communications infrastructure to define enterprise technology standards, facilitate leverage and re-use, and ensure successful delivery of global Voice Services across the enterpriseYou will drive standardization and simplification across the existing environments to reduce overall total cost of ownership (TCO) for the function.Development, refinement, publishing, and socialization of patterns, policies and guidelines, and technology standardsProvides exceptional technical and/or analytical support in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems of moderate to highly complex business communication systemsEnsuring the successful deployment of solutionsProvide guidance and recommendations to the Infrastructure Architecture teams on standards and designsProduce architecture and engineering specifications and design documentsLead the architecture direction and design issues as well as influence peers, cross-functional partners, and IT leadershipEffectively presenting facts and recommendations in oral and written formWork to remediate legacy infrastructure, set standards and procedures for the delivery team to execute.Analyze sector level infrastructure, architecture and develop plans to modernize, value adds/Simplify telephony systemsWork with vendors and partners to certify products and standards for PepsiCo and manage life cycle approach for standardsDesigning, certifying and testing of Solutions for existing sites and new sites. This includes architectural design and working with other teams and vendors to configure network connectivity and other requirementsMaximize user adoption of services through quick user guides, portal help and trainingDesigning and implementing solutions in the lab and in production for on-premise, cloud and hybrid scenarios.Develop integration of Voice solutions with Unified Communication platform (Skype for Business, Zoom, Teams) including audio conferencing servicesEvaluation and developing of device standards platform technology, peripherals, etc.Automation through the development of new scripts or modifying existing scripts, mostly PowerShellKnowledge transfer to production services through documentation, training material creation and trainingCollaborate with all business units globally, stakeholders, senior business leadersProvide value adds, publish status reportsDevelop and support Team, take hiring decisions as required, be a visible leaderCommunicate effectively through strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiencesAssess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and give advice on investments prices versus performanceEnsure the features, benefits, and architectural impact of technology are understood and valuedAssist in developing business cases for architectural solutionsPosition the appropriate IT services for customers to consider when deploying a technology solutionLead technical discussions, driving clarity of complex issues/requirements to build robust solutionsDevelop an advanced understanding of technological capabilitiesEffectively highlight IT technological advantages and disadvantages from the customer's perspectiveIdentify technical win strategies from a business and technology perspective
Qualifications
Mandatory Technical Skills
A minimum of 3-4 years as an architect or senior engineer, with minimum of 9 years in Cisco Voice, Avaya & Genesys Contact center platform.Experience with architecting Voice Infra, Cisco, Avaya & Genesys Contact Center technologies.Expert in architecting and engineering Voice over IP solutions.Must have strong network background & ability to implement telephony integration (PBX, SIP trucking, SBC)Provide Tier 3/4 support on troubleshooting of complex issues.
Mandatory Non-Technical Skills
Experience with infrastructure, tools, process, methods, and fundamentals used to protect enterprise and large headquarters sites.Ability to implement technologies on a global scaleUnderstanding of IT project budget management, planning and forecasting.Understand Security and global governance for telephoney services.Solid technical aptitude, leadership and customer facing skillsStrong communication and presentation skills
