Job Summary
Under the supervision of a physician, performs professional medical work inthe examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients according to statutorylimitations. Examines and diagnoses patients and develops treatment plans.Performs testing, referral to physicians as needed, writesprescriptions, and performs administrative procedures within the scope ofexpertise, protocols and available equipment. May perform administrativesupport functions as required.
Night Shift : Nocturnist position, all shifts are 7p-7a
Essential Functions:
Monitors and evaluates medical condition of patient and under the supervisionof a physician and in collaboration with other disciplines and standards ofcare or applying appropriate protocols, make decisions regarding treatmentchanges. Refers patient to specialized services as needed.Completes required documentation legibly, thoroughly and in a timely manner.Prepares and maintains complete and accurate charts, case files and records.Participates in clinical education of healthcare students as seen fit by thesupervising medical staff.May be assigned to perform leadwork and/or involvement in clinicalcoordination, health station management or responsibility for specialprojects which may encompass protocol development, management planning,scheduling and other administrative tasks as necessary to support practiceenvironment.Attends and participates in administrative staff meetings. Utilizes theprinciples and practices of effective communication to elicit information,negotiate problem resolution, and/or garner support for various programsor policies.Follows established departmental policies and procedures, qualityimprovement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Education:
Master's Degree Required
Work Experience:
One year related clinical experience preferred.
Licenses:
BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required
