Our veterinary technicians contribute to the health and well being of our patients every day by delivering outstanding, high quality vet tech services. They assist Clinicians and other medical staff members with procedures which may include (but are not limited to) specialty care, emergency care, intensive care, surgical assisting, radiography, anesthesiology, laboratory procedures, administering treatments, animal nursing, animal restraint and handling, preventative care, clinical research, etc. within assigned service area as well as across functions as needed or based on area of interest and training. Hourly Salary Range: $24.50 to $31.71 Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: Graduate of Animal Health Technician or equivalent program, certified as MVMA/MAVT technician, and five years of experience assisting licensed DVM's with veterinary medicine procedures to include surgeries, radiographs or emergency care; or two years of experience and specialty certification. Preferred Qualifications: Problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology, knowledge of proper restraint and handling of large and small animals. Lead Technician experience, certified technician with licensure recognized in Minnesota. Supervisory experience preferred. Must possess customer service orientation and outstanding interpersonal skills. About the Department The Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) has served the community for more than a century. It is the most advanced, full-service referral care center for large and small animals in Minnesota. The VMC sees more than 35,000 cases annually, with speciali ts available in all areas of medicine and surgery. More than 50 of the veterinarians on staff have undergone several years of additional training to become board-certified specialists in a particular area of veterinary medicine. The Veterinary Medical Center is comprised of the Small Animal Hospital for dogs, cats, and other companion animals, the Piper Clinic at the new Leatherdale Equine Center, for horses, and the Large Animal Hospital, which treats farm animals, and occasionally, zoo animals.
