Act as lead analyst covering a portfolio of regulated utility and unregulated power company credits including conducting analysis, preparing rating recommendations, presenting to rating committees, leading issuer meetings, publishing research, interacting with investors and bankers, and presenting at industry eventsAll duties performed with minimal supervision and guidance from team leader and the managing director
Responsibilities
Ensure robust broad thinking about credit and rating consistency across regions and sectors.Conduct initial and on-going credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of issuers; principally power and energy infrastructure entities such as regulated electric, gas and water utilities, unregulated generation companies and renewable energy organizations.Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis on a regular basis to rating committees and other internal analytical meetings to assign and maintain credit ratings.Research and write for publication, and execute presentations to a high quality standard on credit trends / opinions / topical issuesMaintain relationships with high-profile issuer clients, investors and intermediaries, with frequent interaction with investors and intermediaries.
Qualifications
Bachelor' degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or similar technical field is required. Masters degree, CFA or similar certification is desired.Solid understanding of financial reporting of corporate entities and experience in reviewing and interpreting financial statementsStrong knowledge of the corporate debt markets and an understanding of the key issues affecting these markets would be highly advantageous.Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills.Good IT competency including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.Excellent interpersonal attributes and the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 3-6 years prior credit/risk assessment experience in banking, financial services, academia, government, or insurance desired. Fluency in English is essential
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$129,200]] to [[$187,400]] , depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
