Your role
Are you risk adverse with experience in optimizing transaction monitoring programs? Do you want to help in the fight against money-laundering, fraud, corruption and terrorist financing?
We are looking for someone like this to:
• develop and maintain the risk and coverage assessments, optimizations for transaction monitoring program
• work with the Model Governance team to ensure appropriate typology design factoring in regulatory expectations and our risk profile
• understand our client base and product offerings and analyzing the same to determine appropriate threshold levels
• anticipate potential risks or issue based on events of interest (regulatory guidance, industry or business events) and subsequent risk analysis to identify transaction monitoring gaps, requirements and/or mitigating controls in collaboration with business line compliance officers, alert triage teams and ownership and documentation of typology (Risk Based Approach) decisions
• perform data analysis required for periodic and event driven optimizations, as well as in the identification of potential optimization opportunities
• provide subject matter expertise, and partnership; specifically, maintain effective relationships with other key FCP partners and supporting functions.
• support regulatory exams and internal audits

The Americas Transaction Monitoring (TM) Director role reports to the Americas Head of TM Standards within the Americas FCP team. This is a driven team of professionals, with oversight responsibility helping US in the fight against money-laundering, fraud, corruption and terrorist financing.

Your expertise
• a bachelor's degree or international equivalent in a relevant area of study required
• 8+ years of prior BSA/AML transaction monitoring experience with an investment bank or comparable, relevant experience at a financial institution, major consulting firm, law firm, regulatory agency, or in law enforcement
• previous experience in performing transaction monitoring coverage assessments and optimizations
• experience with data analysis of transaction monitoring inputs and rules/scenario output information
• expertise in transaction monitoring systems/technology
• firm grasp of enterprise data governance
• handle sensitive information with a high degree of discretion
• confidence to interact with, and present to management and regulators
• team-orientated mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and able to manage conflict and pressure in a demanding environment
