Alpha Business Strategy Manager (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Boston, MA): work closely with the Alpha Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to support the whole of the Alpha business. Drive high priority initiatives across the Alpha organization to drive growth, manage expenses, and enhance operating efficiencies. Will continually enable the management team to assess options and to make decisions to adapt to changing conditions. Will participate in complex strategy projects, working with senior leaders across the organization. Typical projects could include strategy development, process improvement, market segmentation, product / customer positioning and profitability, and strategic prioritization of initiatives. Specific duties of the position include: Understand strategic opportunities Alpha is addressing and run projects designed to assess and address those strategic opportunities: from framing up-front work plans to crafting and executing on the analyses and steps outlined in those plans; Distill complex information down into clear, actionable insights for senior management; Engage in "quick hit" deliverables for senior leadership; Mentor less-experienced team members to develop a collaborative team environment; Work with State Street Executive Leadership, including Executive Management Committees, to advance Alpha's strategic vision through advanced problem solving and relaying recommendations; Function as an Alpha strategic liaison with key constituencies across State Street Corporation to promote alignment and advance Alpha interests; Drive Alpha's regular executive reporting processes, including Quarterly Business Review and designing methods to monitor the health of the business; Liaise with Investor Relations to proactively support the Alpha strategy and address key questions; and Managing a small team (0-3) of business analysts. International travel up to 5%. Hybrid telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.
Minimum requirements are: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or a related field; plus 6 years of experience working in a top-tier strategy consulting firm with exposure to Financial Services (including pre and post M.B.A. experience). Alternatively, will accept a, Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or a related field; plus 4 years of experience working in a top-tier strategy consulting firm with exposure to Financial Services (including pre and post M.B.A. experience).
Must have: Demonstrated solid quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills; Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, including quick turn-around high priority items; Proven ability to clearly and persuasively articulate ideas, both written and verbal, to a range of executive audiences, evidenced by experience in finance oriented consulting roles; Proven success in a role requiring critical-thinking skills with ability to structure and solve complex business problems; Ability to understand financial statements and internal accounting reports; Functional understanding of the asset servicing industry; Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently and as a team member and coach to less- experienced team members; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with visualization tools; Exceptional organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage a wide range of activities; Strong leadership skills, mature presence, and highly collaborative work style evidenced by experience of leading small teams in project based environments; and Proven ability to identify options, manage trade-offs and lead the organization to the best possible recommendation and outcome. Salary Range:
$148,907 - $210,000 Annual
