Introduction:
The Boeing Company is seeking a candidate to join the Airline Operational Safety Support (AOSS) team as an AOSS Representative based in Dublin, Ireland.
The primary duties of this position are to interface with commercial airline maintenance and engineering departments and provide consultation on a variety airline operational safety and compliance issues. The position requires a person with strong airline operational and/or safety management system experience to help initiate positive change within an airlines operation. The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with airline leadership and working level personnel on a wide range of airline maintenance, engineering and operational issues. As part of a greater global safety initiative team the AOSS Representative will work to promote safety, compliance and best practices to the global airline industry.
The selected applicant has a requirement for travel to worldwide airline customer locations with associated short-term assignment benefits. Time away from home base of 75% or greater may be required.
Responsibilities:
Present professional image in representing the Boeing Company to airline customers
As part of the Safety Management System, the Airline Operational Safety Support (AOSS) team will travel on site to work directly with our airline partners to support and advise on maintenance and engineering operations.
Maintain engagement standards, coordinate activities with internal groups and customer to maintain operations compliant with international industry and Boeing safety standards.
Primary focal point for all items related to Operational Safety work that covers airline engineering and maintenance operations.
Work closely with other AOSS functions and Field Service representatives around the world.
Support airline personnel and leadership to mitigate identified gaps, bring to standard and interact with airline maintenance and engineering personnel to evaluate operator performance.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and customers.
While back at home base, team members will share findings, prepare reports for senior executive and sales leadership and work virtually with airline operators to prepare for future evaluations.
Ability/willingness/commitment to do the work in preparation for and resulting from the maintenance evaluation and support activities.
Develops and implements recommendations to improve operational performance, quality and safety.
Assist in maintaining criteria of evaluation checklists as well as airline data.
Track deployment of engagements and support team, and manage rotational pool of evaluators.
Develop and maintain strategic support plans.
Analyze existing data to plan and execute operator support engagements.
Interface with all Boeing stakeholders, including executive leadership and ensuring full coordination as appropriate.
Continuously incorporate lessons learned into AOSS processes.
Work Authorisation:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Ireland. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in Ireland. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and Powerplant license or EASA/GCAA/CAAC B1/B2 license or international equivalent or Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
8+ years of experience or education directly related to airline operations (i.e., Maintenance Control Center, Flight Operations, Line Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Safety Management, Parts/Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, MRO operations, etc...)
English fluency (verbal and written) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven technical writing and presentation skills (clear and concise)
Familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) processes
Broad knowledge of airline maintenance and operational and safety practices
Knowledge of FAA, EASA and/or Local Regulatory standards
Commercial pilot experience or flight operations background
Experience working with remote teams
Experience building and presenting plans or recommendations to airline customers and executive leadership
Familiarity and comfort working in an airport environment and observing safety requirements
Excellent communication skills -- must be able to communicate with airline personnel (ability to listen and capture data) during the support engagements
Demonstrated team player
Experience traveling and working abroad and representing Boeing to customers or regulators
Ability to cross-reference rules among EASA, FAA, ICAO, IOSA, or Local Regulatory
Proven ability to create, track and execute program plan
Recent experience in aircraft Operations, Systems, Avionics, Engineering and/or Flight Test
Prior customer support experience desired.
The selected candidate may also support EIS (Entry into Service) efforts which may support 737MAX, 767, 777 or 787; model experience on all or either is preferred.
Additional Information:
Be able to travel 75% or more internationally as required, with likely travel to remote and challenging environments.
Will be sent on multiple/continuous assignments ranging from 30-180 days.
Flexibility to work varying hours, support evening and early morning customer teleconference and be available by phone 24/7 as needed.
Requires to pass post transfer background screenings to apply for work visa’s in an assignment to an international host country. If clearances cannot be granted from the requisite international post transfer background screenings to apply for work visa’s in an assignment to an international host country, the result may be reassignment, reclassification or termination of employment.
While on assignments, additional allowances and benefits will be provided.
Requires the ability to obtain a valid passport for potential travels.
