This position exists to perform technical duties and responsibilities within the Agriculture Department laboratories; to provide assistance under limited supervision to tutor students in carrying out laboratory assignments and tasks. To see daily activities of the laboratory, and to perform related work as required.
Prepare and maintain agriculture laboratories, shops, and farm for student learning.
Collaborate with Ridgewater College Safety Administrator for regulatory compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Minimum Qualifications
Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in agriculture;OR
6 months of teaching/tutoring experience in agriculture at the high school level or above;OR
2 years of work experience in agriculture - no degree/certificate/diploma/licensure required;OR
An equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualifications
Ability to keep accurate records.
Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
Commercial driver‘s license
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience working with students in a college setting.
Knowledge of college and MnSCU policies
Knowledge Agriculture policies and procedures
Knowledge of each project in shops and the requirements for those projects
Skill in researching and locating parts.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position and able to position self to move. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; position self to move and communicate. The employee is occasionally required to be in a stationary position at times, as well as ascending & descending movements.
The position may also require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to move/transport 75lbs

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State‘s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
