The Aegis Combat Systems Integration and Test Engineer will provide technical support in weapon and combat systems integration, installation, testing, evaluation, and acceptance in support of surface navy vessels including all necessary test and acceptance planning for all Combat Systems, Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C5I) systems for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC). The work will include coordination and integration of all Government and Contractor Furnished Equipment and Information (GFE/I/CFE/I) to the C5I test program. This work will include interface control document reviews for navy surface vessels, and high-visibility development and integration builds for installing and testing current and cutting-edge weapon and combat systems. He/she must be equipped and able to work as part of a highly skilled and multi-functional, multi-disciplined team to maintain support and assist in ship checks, SWAP-C assessments, modeling, document review, interface and installation, formal developmental and operational tests, dry runs, regression testing, and validation and verification testing.
Qualified Aegis Combat Systems Test and Certification Engineer applicants must have a strong background in problem-solving and analytical skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. He/she must also be self-motivated, reliable to deliver on time, quick thinking, be able to work in a fast-paced work environment and be familiar and comfortable with using computer software/programs.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years (for SE)/15 years (for SSE) US Navy surface warfare combat systems/platform experience with carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck, smaller amphibious ships or land-based test sites.
U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret Security Clearance Are Required.
Experience with combat system/weapon system design, integration, and installation, including combat system light off and testing.
Ability to write clear, concise, and easily readable technical correspondence to document reviews of technical recommendations following technical reviews and collating of comments.
Articulate in oral and written presentations; possess high organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
Experience working dynamic programs with fluctuating scope and integrated coordination of multiple engineering disciplines.
Possess an understanding of US Navy system architecture and combat systems across logical, functional, hardware, software components.
Possess operational knowledge of US Navy combatants, weapon systems, and threats.
Additionally, must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers. Two (2) years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and IBM DOORS is preferred. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. or Advanced Degree in engineering, naval architecture, or related discipline desired
Experience interfacing with shipbuilders of navy vessels
Recent new construction or modernization with Combat System/C4I integration on Aegis platforms, preferable as part of the combat systems installation and test team
Experience in development and execution of time phased test sequencing network and a thorough working knowledge of MIL-STD-2106A Department of Defense Development of Shipboard Industrial Test Procedures
Thorough knowledge of the Joint Fleet Forces Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
This role is based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. It has the option to be either full time or part time.
- Candidates interested in full time would work in Halifax for approximately 2-3 weeks and then rotate to a US home/remote location to work on other combat systems related contracts.
- Candidates interested in part time would work in Halifax, Nova Scotia for 2-3 weeks on and then 2-3 weeks off.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
