As a Medical Affairs Specialist, you will have the opportunity to establish close working relationships with key influencers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients in ANZ. You will play a crucial role in planning and executing training, educational activities, advisory board meetings, and local phase IV studies and IITs.

Cool Stuff you'll get to do
Work closely with the Associate Director of Medical Affairs, ANZ to set priorities, strategies, and activities of Medical Affairs. Develop and execute a plan to support physicians and other medical professionals, as well as, maintain Allergan’s success in the TA.
Work closely with the Regional Medical Affairs team and International Therapeutic Lead to ensure alignment of local activities with those of the region.
Through field visits, improve doctors’ awareness of Allergan products, share scientific data supporting their use, train professionals in their proper use, and develop physicians’ expertise and comfort in prescribing their use. This is largely a customer-facing role, and as such, there is an expectation of interaction with KOLs/customers approximately 65% of the time, with travel expected throughout ANZ.
Work closely with commercial team to conduct or facilitate training to physicians and provide proper influence to Therapeutic Leads and doctors externally. Help shape the company’s leadership image in ANZ.
Facilitate training to field sales personnel and others to ensure up-to-date knowledge of Allergan products and relevant disease states and conditions. Assist in the evaluation of sales team members’ skill and knowledge levels with regular Q&A sessions.
Assist in the development of training materials, exams, and evaluative processes for field sales personnel. Provide interpretation and perspective to competitor activities.
Identify key researchers, physicians, and others critical to the knowledge base and disease awareness relevant to the success of each of Allergan's products.
Facilitate greater understanding of medical practice patterns, and educational and training needs; organize national, regional, as well as local activities with the key stakeholders. Present and communicate Allergan’s scientific
Preference for experience as below
Experience of post-qualification work experience; experience working in the pharmaceutical or medical-related industry, overseas education or work experience desirable
Experience working in a medical affairs team in the medical device or pharmaceutical science industry
Experience in clinical research including phase IV studies desirable
Strong analytical skills, with ability to critically evaluate and effectively communicate key clinical data
Ability to quickly learn and communicate clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively to individuals with varying degrees of scientific acumen
Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix structure, supporting multiple stakeholders
Strong project management skills
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite, particularly PowerPoint
Ability to travel about 50% of the work time throughout ANZ
