JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Department of Medicine -Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant to support the Bone Marrow Transplant/CellularTherapy/Clinical Trial patients the Inpatient services located inMilwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital and the Center for AdvancedCare. Our exceptionally talented team of MD and PhD faculty, advancedpractice providers, nurses, research and administrative staff arefocused on patient centered clinical care and research in the pursuit ofbetter therapies for cancer and blood disorders. Our expertise extendsto all aspects of medical oncology including treatment of solid tumors,hematologic (blood) cancers, bone marrow transplantation and cellulartherapies. We also strive to provide excellent care for non-cancerousblood diseases, including bleeding and clotting disorders. The AdvancedPractice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team who will contribute to excellence in program administration,patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, andteaching. The Ideal Candidate will be an experienced APP or Clinicianwith a background in HemOnc/BMT within an inpatient or hospital settingwho wants to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academicpractice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). In this role youwill, Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosisand treatment of conditions requiring Hematology/Oncology/BMTintervention in inpatient environment as a member of the HemOnc/BMTinpatient service at Froedtert Hospital, Center for Advanced Care, DayHospital and our 24/7 Clinic. Evaluate quality outcomes for the patientsreceiving care of this team through participation in the development ofquality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Facilitate and communicateswith patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across thecontinuum of care. Provide initial assessment and management of urgentcare issues related to internal medicine or critical care needs. Providepost-admission assessments during designated hours. Assume in-housefirst call for the 24-hour Clinic, and the Hematology/Oncology/BMTinpatient units during designated coverage hours and respond promptly toall pages and questions related to the care of patients in assignedinpatient services. Participate in sign-out activities from the daytimecare team and sign off to the night team at midnight followingcompletion of shift.
