Shenandoah University’s Office of Admissions is accepting applications for an Admissions Data Processing Specialist. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
The Admissions Data and Processing Specialist supports the University’s student recruitment efforts and the Admissions Systems office by ensuring accurate assessment, entry, and quality assurance of all undergraduate and graduate application materials. The Data and Processing Specialist must be able to work in an organized and systematic manner, be detail-oriented, and have the flexibility to manage competing priorities as needed by the Office of Admissions. The records maintained and processed by the Data and Processing Specialist are the foundation for communications with prospective students and admissions decisions. Timely, efficient, and accurate record maintenance is essential.
Oversees and actively participates in the assessment and processing of undergraduate and graduate prospect, inquiry and application materials.
Ensures that all work meets the standards for accuracy and timeliness established by supervisors.
Reads high school and college transcripts and enters relevant data into the Slate CRM and Radius CRM such as GPA, attendance dates, and other specific data points as needed.
Calculates cumulative high school GPA and collegiate transfer and graduate GPA for all applicants.
Assists in overseeing and utilizing a small group of student employees to ensure accurate and efficient data entry and processing of all prospect, inquiry and application materials.
Downloads and prepares import files in Excel Spreadsheets received from various sources such as CollegeBoard, the Centralized Application Systems (CAS), and media files. Provides quality assurance of imports once completed. Provides support for other system downloads, as needed.
Performs daily document retrieval from various systems, such as Parchment, SCOIR, etc., to import into our Admissions and university CRM and database systems.
Performs regular quality assurance audits on prospect, inquiry and application materials and takes corrective action as needed.
Oversees duplicate record merges and application changes.
Identifies and anticipates issues of efficiency and accuracy in the areas for which they are responsible and develops possible solutions.
Works and learns independently with minimum supervision, ably gaining the necessary knowledge of Ellucian Colleague, Slate CRM, Radius CRM, Etrieve Content, and all other technologies utilized by the Admissions Systems team.
Required Skills
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.Skills:
Strong computer skills and an ability to learn software quickly.
Must be able to analyze systems and processes in order to determine best practices.
Exceptional level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Flexibility and willingness to respond to the department's shifting needs and priorities.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
