Summary:
Workman Publishing is seeking a highly-organized and creative self-starter to assist the EVP, Publisher of the division, the VP, Publisher of Workman and Artisan, and the VP of Marketing and Publicity for Workman, Workman Kids, Algonquin Young Readers, and Workman Calendars. In this role, you will serve as the key hub of communications across the editorial, design, marketing, publicity, sales and corporate management teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all administrative needs for the EVP, Publisher of WP; VP, Publisher of Workman and Artisan; and VP, Marketing & Publicity for Workman, Workman Kids, Workman Calendars, and Algonquin Young Readers. This includes managing their Outlook calendars, filing Concur expense reports, trafficking material for Publisher’s approval, ordering office supplies, mailing books, coding invoices, and the like. Schedule meetings, coordinate meeting and travel arrangements as well as business meals and department events. Draft correspondence on Publisher’s behalf, and take meeting minutes when needed. Manage the department library and other curated shelves and meeting rooms; order books to keep them up to date. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other materials for meetings as needed Work alongside the publisher in implementing initiatives Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Previous administrative experience supporting a senior executive preferred Demonstrated interest in book publishing preferred Excellent inter-personal, oral and written communication skills Time management, multi-tasking and organization skills essential Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Understand the need to maintain highly confidential information Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Concur, Microsoft Teams, Jabber, as well as capability and interest in learning new applications Research, editorial, and/or design skills a plus Ability to interact effectively and pro-actively with a diverse constituency, including department staff, senior management, support staff, authors, agents, and media Ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment and evolving industry As a leading book publisher, we believe that including and representing diverse voices in all aspects of our business is fundamental to what we do. The compensation range for this position is $53,200. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
