We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator to support Dr. Ruslan Medzhitov and his dynamic research laboratory on-site at Yale University. The Medzhitov lab team studies the biology of inflammation, mechanisms of homeostasis, allergic immunity, and mechanisms of diseases. We are targeting someone who enjoys working independently and proactively anticipating needs. This role is an integral part of a congenial, diverse 25-person lab team and will be responsible for supporting Dr. Medzhitov with a broad range of administrative responsibilities.

What you'll do:
Maintain all aspects of Dr. Medzhitov's calendar.Support logistics accommodations for lab visitors (visiting scholars, etc.) such as booking transportation and hotel rooms, arranging meals, and handling reimbursements.Manage travel arrangements and reimbursements (conferences, seminar trips, etc.) for Dr. Medzhitov.Serve as primary point of contact on the lab's behalf and liaise with various external operational/administrative parties including Yale, HHMI, and others.Work closely with lab manager on various lab operational efforts, processes, and tasks.Coordinate and schedule recurring lab meetings and events.Other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.Previous administrative experience is required. Administrative experience in a research or academic environment would be a plus.Strong writing and computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong proactive, self-motivated approach to work with an eagerness to learn and grow.Excellent communication skills and the ability to use good judgment in working independently, showing initiative, managing time, balancing multiple priorities, and responding to requests.Ability to work well with a wide variety of people at all levels and from all backgrounds.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation Range
$66,045.00 (minimum) - $82,600.00 (midpoint) - $107,310.00 (maximum)

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
