Purpose of Role:
This role will serve as the Activation lead for all touchpoints internally and with distributors. The successful candidate will enable outstanding brand and local marketing activation in market to ensure the markets drive at scale national program deployment and focus on supporting the everyday brilliant retail within the business.
Will focus on key market-level levers such as national brand programming, strategic account programming, point of sale, VAP, and sampling (where legal) and ensure rest of market coverage is in place. The role will provide leadership, support, communication & coordination at the local level to ensure alignment of activity to help drive the business for key customers via strategic brand initiatives.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Effectively advocate for the market’s needs and opportunities with central teams and across the regionEncourage and advise the Diageo and Distributor sales teams in the market on the brand strategies, investments, and resources / activities to deployServe as communication liaison between internal and external partnersEncourage, influence, and mentor local distributor counterparts, national sales leads, and agency partnersLead all market activity including but not limited to point of sale, value- added packs, sampling events, customer digital excellence, shopper programmingAlign with the Diageo Marketing Code, regulatory and legal requirementsEnsure Diageo’s brands show up in market in a way that is consistent with the brands purpose, target audience and toneAccountable & responsible for the success of redefining how we plan and activate at retailPartner with customer leads to ensure Key Performance Indicators success in local marketDrive AT SCALE best in class execution of programs and platforms to deliver market share growthRefine the way we believe/behave/operate to drive activity and local activation effectivelyLeadership Responsibilities and Decision-Making Rights: Strong ability to establish relationships and influence decision making internally and at local key customers
Qualifications and Experience Required
Strong Experience needed. Strong project management skills is a plusBachelor’s degree and proven successful experience in Commercial or MarketingStrong attention to detail, great communication and interpersonal skillsBe a Change agent – understand current go to market strategy and be passionate about the future/evolution of local activationStrong interpersonal skills with experience working across a matrixed organization with multiple partnersMust have strong influencing and negotiation skillsFinancial and budget management
