Ginkgo Finance is entering its next phase as a public company on its exciting journey of rapid growth and industry-disrupting technologies. Having completed its initial public offering (raised more than $1.5 billion in 2021), completed strategic acquisitions and finished its first year as a large-accelerated filer subject to reporting of our internal controls over financial reporting (2022), the Accounting, Reporting & Controllership (ARC) organization of the broader Ginkgo Finance organization is seeking finance and accounting expertise across various disciplines.
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to provide support for our revenue team and join the client invoicing team. In this role, you will be responsible for client billing and preparing monthly journal entries for several customer projects at Ginkgo. You will also work closely with program managers to maintain all required information and data in the billing system, to ensure timely communication with customers.
ResponsibilitiesSend customer invoices and account updatesMaintain accurate record of customer accounts and balancesPeriodically check receivable aging reports to ensure that payments are applied properly, with thorough understanding of the Debit/Credit conceptAddress and solve customer and internal stakeholder questions and issuesAssist in any automation processes that improve the efficiency and timeliness of financial reporting and support Ginkgo's continued growthManage the workbooks to ensure billing is accurate and completed in a timely mannerPrepare customer account adjustments as required (i.e. credit memos) when billing issues cannot be resolvedPrepare monthly revenue journal entries for commercial and products sales contracts according to our internally pre-determined monthly revenue recognized under ASC 606 Provide support of the annual financial statement audit, including documenting control steps for internal and external auditsEnsure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirementsProvide support in the completion of any internal or external revenue and/or billing reporting effortProvide support on special projects as required on an as needed basisPerform all other related duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsAssociates Degree or higher in finance, accounting, or related fieldStrong understanding of Microsoft ExcelAbility to establish multiple priorities and accomplish objectives independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and analytical skills, and ability to resolve both new and old issues as they ariseAbility to interface daily with customers, internal departments, and vendors while researching and resolving billing issues and ensuring best practices are in placePreferred Capabilities and Experience:Experience in a public or private company accounting/finance departmentWorking knowledge with Oracle NetSuite, Workday, Coupa, Blackline, Alteryx, and Adaptive toolsExperience with billing/invoicing and/or client serviceTo learn more about Ginkgo, visit www.ginkgobioworks.com/press/ or check out some curated press below:What is it really like to take your company public via a SPAC?
