1+ years AR experience - NOT data entry. This person will need to be able to understand the invoicing process and navigate that depending on the invoicing situation (ex., invoice is overpaid/short, has discounts, has customer-specific steps involved)
MS Outlook - able to create and manage a large number of Outlook folders & route emails accordingly
Able to communicate with vendors professionally via email
Basic excel - will be living in Excel but open to just familiarity of working with a spreadsheet and exporting and formatting Excel files
Description:
· Perform daily A/R functions, including receiving bills, confirming accuracy, coding, payables entry
· “Full cycle accounts receivable,” meaning sales order, delivery, billing document, posting to account, receiving and posting payment from customer
· Build positive relationships with all internal (sales and operations) and external customers.
· Ensure invoices and cash applications are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
· Process new credit applications (based on credit department and company size)
· Progress billing control, invoicing, and reporting.
· Posting payments to customer accounts.
· Make collection calls and/or correspond with customers about past-due balances.
· Providing customer service regarding collection issues, processing customer refunds, process and reviewing account adjustments, and resolving client discrepancies and short payments.
· Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write-offs, customer reconciliations, and processing credit memos.
· Prepare and reconcile customer statements, process customer returns, and issue invoices.
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
· May have additional responsibilities with month-end close, journal entries, analysis of DSO (days sales outstanding), and accounts receivable reconciliations.
