The Accounting Policy team, part of the broader Corporate Controller's organization within the Chief Accounting Office, provides accounting compliance oversight for all global US GAAP and IFRS transactions, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and accurate financial statement reporting and presentation.
The Accounting Policy team is seeking a Manager to serve as a trusted business partner, providing timely and accurate financial consultation on emerging and complex accounting issues. The candidate will partner with various groups including Corporate Accounting, Tax, Legal, Operations Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury, external auditors, and Business Unit Finance. This role also offers many opportunities to engage with executive management. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a strong understanding of US GAAP, a proven track record of problem solving in a high-pressure environment and have demonstrated strong communication and influence with management.
Responsibilities include:
Provide US GAAP and/or IFRS technical accounting research, interpretation, and consultation on complex and non-routine transactions.Draft technical accounting whitepapers and maintain Intel's accounting policies.Communicate significant and unusual transactions via internal Corporate Reporting Dashboard.Provide an impartial voice and consistent views on transactions across Intel.Monitor standard setting activities from the FASB and the SEC and engage in the process by participating in comment letter activities via the Committee on Corporate Reporting and participating in relevant outreach with regulators.Drive implementation of new accounting standards.Provide annual and ad hoc technical accounting training to various groups.Review and prepare certain key areas of Intel's 10-Q/K, including ownership of related US GAAP Disclosure Checklist items.Monitor and coordinate new disclosure areas, including unique transactions and newly adopted accounting standards.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
Understanding of US GAAP and extensive experience applying US GAAP to various facts and circumstances; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.Analytical, research, and project and stakeholder management skills.Technical writing skills.Concise communication skills (written and oral) upward to senior leadership and across organizations.Motivated to learn and grow, and develop knowledge of unfamiliar areas.Skills to troubleshoot issues, and drive solutions across stakeholders.Skills to manage through ambiguity in complex environments, while continuing to drive action.Skills to work on a fast-paced team and adapt to rapidly changing situations and conditions.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.CPA or equivalent.7+ years of experience in accounting/auditing/finance, including 3+ years in public accounting.
Prefer qualifications:
Experience working on large multi-national transactions.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $111,940.00-$167,448.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
