The Accounting Consultant position works closely with the Accounting Manager, overseeing the financial processes within the Procure to Pay team. This position will assist in continuous improvement, both system and process, within the Procure to Pay work stream. The Accounting Consultant will have an opportunity to take the lead on projects, mentor staff and work collaboratively across functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconcile and analyze complex general ledger accounts for month end close
Assist with month end close process
Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
Lead process improvements, both system and manual, in P2P workstream
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis; investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
Take lead in projects to ensure goals are achieved, including meeting and coordination with various teams
Perform work in self-directed manner and work with less structured, more complex issues
Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of effective internal and financial system controls, policies, and procedures
Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
Solve complex problems and conduct complex analyses

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
4+ years of related experience in professional accounting
Knowledge of GAAP
Microsoft Office, especially Excel (i.e. vlookup, pivot)
Proven to be extremely detail oriented with high level of accuracy and sound judgement
Proven high level of professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to effectively manage time and complete multiple tasks, while continually meeting critical deadlines and responding to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Deltek Costpoint experience
Government Contracting experience including experience with CAS and FAR
