  DescriptionPosition Overview:The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial monthly accounting close cycle to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP and RealTruck accounting policies including ownership of accounting, analysis, controls, and reporting. This role will assist the Controller in managing and executing the month end close process, preparation of various reports and analysis for preparing journal entries and analyzing the financial results of the business. This position is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all aspects of the business's cost and inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy of product costs and shop floor and shipping transactions. Work involves a high level of independent judgment, accuracy, and initiative.Position Responsibilities:* Manage all aspects of the business's cost accounting functions, including accuracy of product costs and manufacturing and inventory transactions.* Participate in all aspects of the month-end close process including completion of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and financial statements.* Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting and financial reporting.* Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies.* Work cross-functionally with other groups to foresee, identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues and recommend practical solutions associated with business transactions.* Support consolidation of RealTruck financials through collaboration of inter-company accounting and other processes/ reports.* Prepare the internal financial reports maintaining the highest quality, reliability & accuracy; Analyze reports and collaborate with functional leaders to analyze and understand variances.* Actively participate in efforts to improve close processes, automation projects and process improvement initiatives.* Coordinate, gather, support, and perform other necessary tasks to complete the external audit.* Assist with other projects or duties as assigned.Education and Experience* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related degree required.
