Job Description
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for recording payroll to the general ledger and analyzing payroll related costs. Additional duties include balance sheet account reconciliations and assisting with reporting and audit requests. The role requires an individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Responsibilities
Validate and record payroll entries in the general ledger timely and accurately
Maintain accrual calendars and general ledger mapping of payroll codes in the payroll system
Perform month-end close duties, including recording monthly accrued payroll expenses
Assist with review and explanations of fluctuations in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results
Prepare and ensure completeness of balance sheet reconciliations in addition to reporting on fluctuations over various time periods
Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews, internal audit team, and annual audit
Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley
Provide timely accounting assistance to accounting managers and internal business partners; respond to financial questions and/or concerns to meet business needs
Create and maintain process documentation for assigned duties

Skills and Requirements
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
Two or more years of accounting experience
Knowledgeable of US GAAP, IFRS and SOX
Proven experience in continuous process improvement
Strong proven analytical and problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with varying levels of management
Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Flexibility to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
Technical Skills
Microsoft Office (high level of proficiency in excel required)
SAP experience is preferred
Proficiency with BlackLine is a plus null
