What you will be doing
This is an Accountant position that requires the incumbent to perform a variety of accounting activities related to the payment and receipt of money, general ledger and reporting; computes, classifies, and records transactions into the Company's financial accounting systems. Provide supervision and guidance to the AR and AP specialist according to the finance policies, systems and processes in place.
Filing of monthly VAT returns and following up on any SARS queries.Prepare schedules to support returns for Income Tax.Download bank statements daily and post to relevant accounts.Payroll - reconciling any residual amounts after paying out social security costs..Authorize all payments through online banking.Cash flow management.Ensure all statutory returns are submitted (including PAYE returns).GL Account analysis.Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes and that all financial reporting and audit deadlines are met.Ensuring an accurate balance sheet close, fixed assets, cash and bank and related reconciliations.Reviewing trial balance and providing explanations on main variances.Compile and analyse financial information as required.Support the FM on annual budgeting process.Dealing with SARS queries and any finance related auditsCredit control- following up with customers on a regular basis to ensure payments are received in accordance with payment terms pending transition to BCN.Allocate funds received to Debtors Account in SAP on a daily basisMonthly Debtors reconciliationOrganize weekly Debtors meeting with Branches to update local team.
