Position Summary:
As our new Sales Specialist you are a key member of our Laboratory Products team. You will be passionate about driving sales for the Laboratory Products equipment and consumables into Pharma, Biotech, Academic, Government, Healthcare and Industrial segments. This is a field-based role with a territory covering Northern and part of Southern Ireland.
The primary functional objective of the position is contact with customers and channel partners in the given market, to initiate and develop relationships, which will ultimately generate sales! It is through these relationships and knowledge of the business and external market that will achieve the best possible sales representation for Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Laboratory Products Salesperson, you will visit customers, travelling 4 days per week on average, in addition to using the telephone, MS Teams, data science and email. Social media connections will also be an integral resource.
Responsibilities:
Providing an enhanced customer experience to grow share within the given segments at an exciting time of market evolution.Reach Annual Operating Plan set for territoryThe strategic development and growth of laboratory equipment is the primary focus of this role with attachment of consumables.Working in coordination with our key distributors makes strong collaboration a critical requirement.Build and maintain existing relationships by regular face to face meetings, with new and existing customers. Use all routes to market including channel partners and e-commerce platform to deliver solutions for our customers.Sales Forecasting and anticipate pipeline changes enabling plans to be put in place to address shortfalls.Use Salesforce.com to ensure accurate customer records are held.Apply data intelligence to analyse and develop sales opportunities with the greatest return on investment. Communicate key competitor activities, market trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which include emerging customers.Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes and challenges to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team, region and sales organization.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Must live on territory or be able to relocate.Valid driving licence.Minimum BSc within Life Sciences required.Several years of validated sales success in life sciences or a similar market environment.Proficient in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.Demonstrate experience leading sophisticated, high-value accounts in a matrix environment.A strong teammate with proven track record to coordinate activities and influence without authority.Strong capabilities to interface effectively with all customer and channel types.Good negotiation skills.Practical understanding of the sales processes & buying cycle.Ability to function effectively in a high-performance team.Demonstrate a positive demeanour and desire to succeed in commercial.Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a constantly evolving business environment.Digital literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams or similar programs required.
