The Account Manager provides technical support related to the sale of GAST engineered products based on the customer’s process and application details. The Account Manager will become a process and application expert where Gast equipment is used and identify potential growth opportunities.
This individual will lead customer sales engagement, respond to technical inquiries from customers in a timely manner, and be responsible for attaining orders. The candidate will have a strong background in communicating with all levels of decision makers, have a strong background in sales process and display the ability to work cross-functionally within a manufacturing environment. Success in this role will require the ability to consistently meet/exceed annual operating plans, develop/drive all levels of a sales funnel and provide market knowledge to all levels of the organization.
The Account Manager will work with Market Development Manager and the Sales Leadership Team to create and track large opportunities in the sales funnel. This will done by participating in forecast calls to share feedback and opportunities for growth.
FUNCTIONS
Provides value to key customer accounts by developing solutions that save time, reduce risk and increase profits.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the key markets Gast serves; the processes used in the industry; and the applications GAST equipment is used in, in order to increase sales.
Be the bridge between Gast’s technical and engineering teams and customer to specify products that meets the needs of customer ensuring that Gast wins the day.
Build and manage a sales funnel, using CRM, robust enough to allow for year over year forecasting
Negotiate pricing and contracts as required.
Provide market and competitive intel to GAST Market Research Manager through customer interactions and prospecting.
Assist with preparation and execution of company events such as trade shows, fairs, field days etc. as required.
Act as GAST ambassador with customers and formalize the relationship through documents MSA, global frameworks, pricing and term agreement to support the customer’s strategic plans.
Experience
5+ years previous experience in an Account Manager or inside sales role preferred.Education
B.S. in Engineering or Business preferred.Qualifications
Product and market knowledge related to pneumatics and air movement instrumentation.
A team player with the ability to enable changes in business processes and the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.
Requires exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data base management required.
Customer obsession: sense of urgency on problem solving, empathetic listening,collaborative partnership etc.
Travel (up to 10%) will be required.
