  The Hartford’s Sales Enablement University is seeking a thought leader and “edutainer” for an Academic Design and Delivery Consultant with a zeal for innovation, a passion for consulting, and the skills to deliver best-in-class learning solutions.

  This position is accountable to consult, design, develop, deliver, and maintain educational curricula for the New Hire, Professional Mastery and Leadership learning pillars of the Sales Enablement University.

  This role will be both technical in nature encompassing design and development and training administration as well as planning and execution, collaborating with partners and acting as a consultative advisor.

  Educational content is developed for regularly scheduled weekly learning events, ongoing longer programs, and includes National Sales Meetings.

  The Academic Design and Delivery Consultant requires a high degree of collaboration within the Sales Enablement University team, as well as with Business Leaders and Business Unit Subject Matter Experts.

  The sales education provided is designed to enhance the “TOPS” core competencies (Tools, Operating Routines, Product and Sales), meet the learning objectives defined by the business, and effectively and efficiently drive profitable growth.

  The position is accountable for consulting on needs and recommending training methodologies and developing engaging curriculum that leverage adult learning principles, with a balance of self-directed and facilitator-led experiences.

  The educational session delivery and facilitation is essential to ensure full engagement of the audience and achieve the desired learning objectives.

  Business travel can be up to 20%.

  Responsibilities:

  Consult with business partners to ensure all learning curriculum is relevant, accurate and meeting the field and segment needs.

  Design, develop and deliver creative, effective, and engaging learning and development programs to drive results for key segment initiatives.

  Develop and deliver performance solutions that will address any deficiencies to improve education effectiveness, including instructor-led and self-directed learning experiences, and leverage them, when possible, as a shared service for additional business partners.

  Develop and deliver formal and informal training assessments and evaluations and analyze results to identify trends to improve future training deliverables.

  Leverage best practices of field subject matter experts and advisory councils to design and deliver learning and development solutions.

  Ensure use of adult learning principles in end-to-end learning solutions

  Produce engaging and impactful introductory and mastery educational sessions, as applicable.

  Master virtual and onsite production delivery (“edutainment”) through various interactive instructional tools and media

  Deliver end-to-end solutions for skill-building, performance, reinforcement learning at an appropriate pace to ensure desired outcomes.

  Capture, distribute, and archive intellectual capital to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration, builds/maintains sales readiness tools, portals, and websites.

  Leverage the Engagement Plan framework for segment initiatives, consulting with leaders on learning objectives and recommending design and delivery options.

  Manage team projects and initiatives through effective planning and communication with attention to time-frames and due dates as outlined within the Engagement Plan framework.

  Qualifications:

  5+ years of experience in a design consultant role; Small Commercial, Group Benefits or Personal Lines insurance sales experience preferred.

  Demonstrated consulting and influencing skills with an ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership and individual styles.

  Experience in the design and delivery of various learning methodologies

  Graphic design ability to creatively work within brand guidelines, maintaining consistency with adaptability, producing modern, fresh designs.

  Knowledge of technical tools: Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel proficiency), Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, as well as Camtasia Studio, Vyond, SharePoint (site design)

  Deep business acumen and working knowledge of sales practices and methodologies including territory management, selling and negotiation skills.

  Strong informal or formal leadership skills including a strong ability to motivate, persuade others and a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop sales reps & underwriters.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to impart information in a clear and concise manner.

  Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment, embracing change.

  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while at the same time focusing on effective teamwork and collaboration

  This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

  Compensation

  The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

  $96,160 - $144,240
