We are looking for experienced and self-motivated individuals to fill two 3rd Class Power Engineer positions within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada.
POSITION SUMMARY – To operate and monitor all utility equipment located outside the boiler house which includes: cooling towers, refrigeration systems, air compressors, steam condensate collection systems, waste water and process water plants and emergency diesel generators in the two resin manufacturing areas. Relieve Operating Engineers Third Class and Operating Engineers Second Class as needed for vacation and illness. Conduct daily work activities in support of HSE objectives and policies. Use personal accountability to assist with carrying out duties, responsibilities and authority as defined in HSE programs, practices and procedures. Understand HSE policies and programs. Work safely, with respect to health and environmental requirements. Follows the procedures for the ISO 9001 Program to meet OCC’s quality policies of conducting business that exceed the expectations and needs of our customers in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. General Duties:

Education: Successful completion of a 3rd Class Operating Engineer TSSA Certificate. This TSSA certificate requires the successful completion of TSSA exams. Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, TSSA and related regulations. Knowledge of and ability to operate basic computer software applications as well as outlook and to conduct research using the internet. Must have a working knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of various types of mechanical equipment. Diagnostic and problem solving skills related to technical issues. Must be able to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and follow mechanical specifications. Valid driver’s license required.
practical steam time in a 2nd Class plant or greater. Required to work overtime, weekends, holidays and call-in as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
