High School Social Studies Teacher {2024-2025}
Freire Schools is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Exact grade to be determined, but possible grade levels range from 9th - 12th grade at either our Tech High School or Center City High School Campus. Freire staff members are forward-thinking team players passionate about working with and unleashing the potential of urban youth. Across the network, at least 95% of our Class of 2023 were accepted to college. Students were accepted to 151 unique colleges and universities - including the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, and 30 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).The Class of 2023 received over $23.8 million in college scholarships and financial aid.Freire students' college persistence rates consistently exceed local, state, and national averages. In each graduating class, 89% to 92% of our college-attending graduates return to college for their sophomore year, compared to just 69% nationally.Freire Charter School just was awarded a $2M grant and Freire Wilmington a $1.8M 5-year grant to continue their 21st CCLC programs for the next five years.TECH Freire was one of only five schools, out of 39 total applications, approved to open a new Philadelphia charter school in 2016.
