High School ESL Teacher: TECH Freire High School: 2221 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA

　　TECH Freire High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic ESL (English as a Second Language) Coordinator to join our Freire Family. The ESL Coordinator will play a vital role in guiding and supporting non-native English speakers in their language acquisition journey.

　　Job Responsibilities

　　Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to engage and motivate students in the learning process, and to promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.Assess and monitor student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations, and provide timely feedback and support to enhance their learning and address their academic needs.Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure the overall success of the school and its students.Participate in professional development. Our Freire teachers engage in monthly staff-wide professional development and regular coaching and mentor support.Create a safe, respectful, and positive classroom environment that fosters students' academic and personal growth, and promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion.

　　Qualifications:

　　At least 2 years of previous successful experience working with diverse student populations is strongly preferred.Valid state teaching certification in ESL or eligibility for Emergency CertificationExcellent communication and relational skills to interact effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators, and to promote a culture of respect, responsibility, excellence, collaboration, and social justice.Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.Commitment to Freire's mission, vision, and values.
