Our Nationwide Sales Solutions Team

We are one part of the Strategic Placement Solutions business units focused on driving profitable growth within Commercial Lines. We enable direct to consumer and inside sales for agents. This is a great launching point at Nationwide because of the diversity of experience you gain in this role. Every day creates new opportunities, and no two days are the same.

  We’re looking for an Analyst, Sales Support Intern, location variable.

  

About You

A successful Sales Support Analyst Intern at Nationwide has:

  Education

  Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Accounting, Data Analytics, Finance, Marketing, MIS, Business Management or a related field of study.Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferredInvolvement in student activities and/or some work experience3.0 GPA or higher is desired

  Skills/Competencies

  Exposure to insurance and risk management conceptsProblem solving and analytical skills, including ability to recognize problems, determine appropriate actions, implement solutions, and use judgement when appropriateEffective verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of internal and external contactsAbility to work independently and collaborate in a team environmentNatural curiosity to explore and questionProficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; SQL or Tableau is preferred

  

Job Summary

A day in the life of a Sales Support Analyst Intern might include:

  A focus on sales and retention support activitiesRun renewal reports, make outbound phone calls, and send renewal emailsCustomer and agent contact regarding late-pay phone calls and taking paymentsReviewing and assist with carrier reports and help plan for carrier consolidation effort.Completing tasks involving data science, business reports, and ad hoc analysisDemonstrating willingness to be engaged and try new thingsParticipating in department and company meetingsCompleting training and developing proficiency on the tools to complete analysisCompleting a project with other interns at Nationwide for presentation to senior leadership at the end of the summerPerforming other duties as assigned
