OVERVIEW
Consumer Reports is one of the world’s most influential mission-driven media organizations. Our in-house video production team is a critical component of our content distribution, producing English and Spanish videos for a broad media portfolio,including CR.org, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit, MSN, YouTube and a network of 150 local television stations in the United States and Canada.
We’re looking for a versatile, well-rounded videographer and editor with experience in the news or corporate space to join our talented team. This person will shoot, edit and post broadcast and digital videos that cover our journalism, product reviews, test results, and buying advice, as well as some internal video needs. Great interpersonal skills and a creative eye are a plus. You will report to the Manager, Video Production.

This is a hybrid position, expected to be remote approximately 60% - 75% of the time. The successful candidate must reside within 75-miles of our Yonkers, NY office. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
Consumers rely on CR so they can make smart buying decisions. You will play an integral role in taking viewers inside our labs. Then, working independently or with a producer, you’ll distill the footage into a creative, captivating broadcast and digital video that informs viewers and ultimately contributes to enhancing CR’s brand, mission and membership. In this position, you will:
Execute all aspects of video recording with digital cameras, including audio and routine set lighting, either in Yonkers or on location. Troubleshoot technical problems.Edit digital, social, and broadcast videos using a Mac and Adobe Creative Suite Handle post production, including video and audio corrections. Create text and motion graphics as effective storytelling components. Ensure all raw and finalized assets are ingested and tagged in the video asset management platform Prepare videos for broadcast and online affiliate distribution.Work with Video Operations to help maintain the inventory and maintenance of video and editing equipment.Ensure that videos are produced on time and on budget.Help staff with use of cameras and editing.Keep pace with technological changes in online video production, post production, and AI tools for content creators.

You have the receipts. You have earned a Bachelor’s Degree You bring the experience. You have at least 5-years of experience as a multimedia journalist or news videographer and editor.You have the expertise. You must have experience in video and DSLR shooting, including audio and lighting. You are deadline driven. You are well-organized, detail oriented and able to navigate editorial reviews and approvals under tight deadlines.
