About Underwriter

  Position Summary:

  To be responsible for growing Keystroke's Miscellaneous Professional Liability book of business by meeting or exceeding budget production goals. Also, maintaining current retail/wholesale insurance agent relationships and creating new relationships across the country. Furthermore, managing any account brough in by you or assigned to you from beginning to end.

  Qualifications: Currently holds an active Property and Casualty Insurance Agent License or the ability to obtain a P&C license within 90 days of hiring date Must have a minimum of a two-year associates degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field 1-3 years Insurance experience is preferred Must be proficient in MS Office products including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Must have the ability and enjoy interacting with customers both on the phone and in-person Responsibilities:

  Corporate and Departmental Screen applicants on the basis of a set criteria and decide whether we can offer E&O insurance Analyze information provided within insurance applications Review and analyze information on the applicant from other resources such as websites, linked contacts, associations, etc. Determine the risk of insuring a Miscellaneous Professional Liability client by following underwriting guidelines, rating matrix, other information and using one's own judgment; Negotiate terms with Agent, Referral Underwriter and/or Lead Program Underwriters when need Creating and issuing quotes, binders and policies Administrative duties such as following up for any outstanding information, issuing mid-term endorsements and amending policies during the policy period when requested. Keeping policy files up-to-date recording all relevant information on how the policies were underwritten and the decisions that were made. Production Create and maintain relationships with new and existing agent customers by visiting their office and/or by other types of communication Attend appropriate client meetings, conventions and/or industry events corporate when needed Meet budgeted production goals determined for the year Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
