General Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating, directing, andsupervising crew(s) and subcontractors to complete various undergroundconstruction project activities in a safe, quality, and timely manner.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Collaborate with Superintendent and/or Project management team toschedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew.Complete required documentation and reports including but notlimited to, crew timecards, daily reports, logs, incident reportsand safety documentation.Lead daily communication and safety meetings with crew regardingexpectations, changes, and other information.Enforce and comply with all Company safety policies, procedures, andpractices.Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.Support employee counseling and performance appraisals.Timely address safety and other job site concerns and issues withemployees.Monitor job site and crew safety to ensure work is being completedin compliance with project specification and safety standards.Communicate with project management team regarding any delays,changes and/or emergencies at the job sites.Actively inspect work site for potential health and safety hazards.Maintain safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards andsafety standards.Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthentechnical, safety, and other skills.Perform other duties as assigned.Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experienceWork Experience
Two (2) years of experience functioning as a Foreman/Supervisorand/or Lead level.Five (5) years of experience in underground construction, preferred.Proficient in excavation, backfill and proper compaction practices.Experience in building projects for the AZ Department ofTransportation, City of Tucson, and/or Pima County, preferred.Experience installing water lines, storm drain, sewer, and dryutilities.Heavy Civil Construction experience, preferred.Valid Driver\'s License.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Bilingual a plus)Skills in basic computing and email.Ability to work in a team setting.Ability to read and understand blueprint and construction plans,preferred.Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicateeffectively with others.Ability to motivate employees and lead by example.Ability to work well under pressure and within project timelines.Ability to work cooperatively with a team in a fast-paced andcomplex environment.Physical Demands
Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extendedhours).Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in allweather conditions.Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zones around largemachinery and heavy equipment.About Granite Construction Incorporated
