The Role
Lord Abbett is seeking a talented and experienced finance professional to join our team as a Treasury Capital Markets Lead. Treasury is responsible for maintaining the firm’s financial stability through oversight of its balance sheet, liquidity, and capital resources consistent with enterprise objectives and initiatives. In addition, Treasury leads the execution of all credit facilities, debt issuance and other financing transactions that the firm undertakes at both the corporate and fund level. The Treasury Capital Markets Lead will play a key role in this capacity by assisting the Treasurer in analyzing, executing, and managing financing transactions and capital markets activities at both the fund and firm level, particularly for our growing Alternatives platform. This role will collaborate with key stakeholders across the firm including the CFO, Investments, Client Services, Risk and Legal.
We’ll trust you to:
Work closely with the Treasurer to evaluate the full range of capital structure and financing alternatives for the firm, including benchmarking analysis and consideration of the merits of seeking a credit rating, in the context of the firm’s strategic plans and objectives.Support the firm’s strategic initiatives, with a focus on private credit, by analyzing, recommending, and securing financing transactions for new products and funds, including bank facilities, private placement and public debt issuances, CLOs and repos.Manage the negotiation and execution of all debt transactions including review of term sheets, input on deal documents and assistance in the due diligence process.Oversee and enhance the firm’s debt compliance monitoring, reporting & forecasting process.Maintain & develop strong relationships with our banking counterparties and lenders regarding all financing needs at both the firm and fund level.Support senior leaders including the CFO and Treasurer in developing strategies & principles to generate relationship alpha with key financial institutions.Create presentations & reporting dashboards for senior stakeholders such as the Managing Partner, CFO & the Executive Committee.Establish, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to company principles and best-in-class standards.
You'll need to have:
7-10 years of experience in the or financial services industry, preferably within asset management.Direct experience in capital markets activities and arranging financing transactions. Must have sound knowledge of a broad spectrum of capital structures and debt financing products as well as a desire to keep current on capital markets as they potentially relate to opportunities for Lord Abbett.Demonstrated success in building relationships with sophisticated counterparties while exhibiting strong negotiation skills.Requires a solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting, particularly as it relates to the balance sheet and cash flow statement.Self-motivated individual with proven ability to work efficiently, effectively, and proactively both as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as the ability to translate these complex analytical concepts into straightforward messages to enable strategic decision-making.Intellectual curiosity and desire for continual personal and professional growth, with high standards of quality.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Excellent project management skills to lead complex initiatives independently and execute to completion.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar areas of study.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $150,000 - $170,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
