TITLE: Test Engineer
LOCATION: 13736 Riverport Drive, Maryland Heights, MO 63043
JOB SUMMARY: Document and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality products for Charter's Agent Portal Application Development organization. Involved in test planning, writing manual cases/scripts, and test execution. Analyze manual and automated test scenario results. Support projects of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments. Participate in multiple programs/systems as a project team member. Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Define and track quality assurance metrics including defects, defect counts, test results and test status. Minimize noise around defects by performing additional analysis of scenarios, ensuring defects are well-written, having all required diagnostic information, and driving defects to resolution. Ensure product quality conforms to documented requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. Perform back-end system and front-end UI triage and troubleshooting when identifying defects. Determine manual test cases for automation. Deliver quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. Perform quality audits across functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. Ensure alignment between business operational strategies and quality assurance of Charter's products. Diagnose complex issues and evaluate, recommend and execute the best resolution. Develop, modify, enhance and implement test plans designed to support new or existing business initiatives. Identify improvement opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to bring in testing efficiencies. Analyze existing test scenarios to ensure accuracy, relevance, and necessity. Analyze testing methodologies in various test scenarios including risk based, Exploratory, or Boundary Value Analysis. Manage test cases, plan test cycles, and collate test reports in software testing tools including HP-ALM or TestRail. Define automation strategy and implement automation framework. Utilize database schemas and querying tools including SQL. Analyze and resolve automation related problems.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. 5 years of experience: analyzing testing methodologies in various test scenarios including at least one of the following: risk based, Exploratory, or Boundary Value Analysis; and managing test cases, planning test cycles, and collating test reports in at least one software testing tool including HP-ALM or TestRail. 1 year of experience in: defining automation strategy and implementing automation framework; database schemas and querying tools including SQL; and analyzing and resolving automation related problems. Hybrid office and remote arrangement is available.
