The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Test and Evaluation Lead Engineer (Senior) located in Las Vegas, NV. The selected candidate will be responsible for test planning and execution in support of a proprietary activity within Boeing Phantom Works. As a Test and Evaluation Lead in the test conductor role, you will lead test teams in the safe, efficient, and effective performance of ground and flight tests by partnering with subject matter experts. Test and evaluation engineers use their detailed knowledge of test techniques and depth of knowledge you will receive on the systems under test to optimally and safely document, conduct, and report on sophisticated and multifaceted tests. You will advise the test participants, from pre-briefing, to testing, and through debriefing, in order to capture the data needed to satisfy customer requirements. The test and evaluation engineer is a key communicator, providing status, informative briefings, data, procedures, and reports.
Berkeley, MO will be this position's home base. This position requires a Domestic Temporary Assignment (DTA) to Las Vegas, NV for approximately 12 to 24 months, after clearance requirements are obtained. There is an option to relocate directly to Las Vegas.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
Develops detailed test procedures and defines instrumentation /configuration requirements needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
Develops test plans and test cards
Incorporates lessons learned into future test activities
Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
Oversees debriefing of the test team
Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
Presents test results internally
Documents operating limitations
Reviews and recommends changes to technical publications
Supports test readiness reviews and safety review boards
Coordinate and present at test planning working group meetings
Responsible for training new test conductors and flight test engineers
Works under minimal direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
An active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
An active U.S. Top Secret Clearance (or higher), or the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry AND 5 or more years' of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (Ex: PhD, Master's + 3 or more years' related work experience)
3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution
3+ years of engineering experience in ground and/or flight test environments
3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
5+ years of experience as a Test Conductor, Test Director and Lead Verification Engineer
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
The ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)
Requires the ability and willingness to work non-standard hours. Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work may occasionally be required
Experience authoring test plans and cards
Must have control room experience
5+ years of experience with Test Program design, test procedure development, and test execution
Hold a pilot license or pilot experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS)
Prior leadership experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Lead, Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range (Senior, Level 4): $121,550 - $164,450
Summary Pay Range (Lead, Level 5): $143,350 - $196,650
